What is art-deco lighting? The art-deco lighting came into the market in the early twentieth century and became popular after some years. Basically these lamps were famous for their architectural designs and geometric and angular shapes. Also the material used in it, the chrome, was novel at that time. But even today, this art-deco lighting is one of the most attractive pieces of lamps available in the market. The use of glass was peculiar too. They used sandblasted, etched, and enameled glass to make the lights more serene!
Sometimes, you will find Franklite lights that combine both gas, and electric. Ideally, the antique fixtures will be made of some metal. However, the highly polished brass is likely to be fake one. Finally, check out the stylistic features of the fixtures.
Pendant lighting is not to be mistaken for chandelier lighting, which casts a softer more ambient light. Pendant lighting is usually hung from a single sconce on the ceiling from which sprouts a single chain or metal tube. The lamp shade itself is the "pendant" that dangles at the end.
