What is art-deco lighting? The art-deco lighting came into the market in the early twentieth century and became popular after some years. Basically these lamps were famous for their architectural designs and geometric and angular shapes. Also the material used in it, the chrome, was novel at that time. But even today, this art-deco lighting is one of the most attractive pieces of lamps available in the market. The use of glass was peculiar too. They used sandblasted, etched, and enameled glass to make the lights more serene!
The antique lighting is made up of several kinds of materials. They can be made of glass, crystal, bronze, brass or even antler. Do not go for the polished steel materials as they are supposed to be faked.
There are different factors that influenced the art deco style - cubism, constructivism and modernism movements. Generally, this style hugely copied French art of the said period. You can find a lot of things made with art deco style such as home furnishings and buildings.
